Happy Monday! How was everyone’s weekend? There is a little bit of chill in the air this morning so I am warming up here in my office with some yummy Pumpkin Spice VIA from the ‘bucks.
This weekend was my first 20 miler of the marathon training season! I could not have asked for better weather for a long run. I coached my running group and ran with some people that ran 20 miles for the very first time!
We all finished with smiles on our faces. Marine Corps Marathon here we come!
With the temps in the 60′s I felt my feet moving just a little bit faster. You don’t even know how excited I am for these cooler temps to come around. It’s definitely my favorite time of year to run a race! Temps 60 and below…yes, bring it on!
After the run (and a nice little nap) I went to the new Trader Joe’s in my mom’s neighborhood. They just opened last week so it was a madhouse in there!
I stocked up on all my faves…finally got a jar of cookie butter! That stuff is pretty dangerous.
Saturday night I took it reeal easy. I wasn’t sore at ALL from my run but I was pretty tired. So I took advantage and got some good rest this weekend.
Sunday morning I woke up and the temps were in the 60′s again! I knew I had a to get up and get a nice little recovery jaunt in. I love running by the lake in my ‘hood. So serene and peaceful.
After church I came home and chilled and made some pizza with my whole wheat crust from TJ’s! Topped it off with chicken sausage, spinach, feta and mozzarella. Heaven!
I caught up with my Real Housewives of New Jerz – that’s my equivalent to watching NFL football ya’ll.
How was your weekend? What is the weather like in your neck of the woods?

so jealous! I want to go to trader joes! I missed the episode last night, I know, I was so exhausted from the weekend I could not keep my eyes open. Sad sad sad. Reruns I hope.
I am sure you will catch the rerun! It was a juicy one
Dina came back!
I wish I had a trader joes in Austin! I always see so many things on blogs that I want to try! We just have Whole Foods here.
They opened one up in Ft. Worth not long ago then in Plano last week. I am sure at some point they will end up in Austin. I think they would do really well there!
OMG the weather was perfect for your 20miler! I’ve got one this weekend and I don’t think the weather will be as nice. I loved how crisp the air felt! Can’t wait for highs in the 50s (not lows)
It was definitely a breath of fresh air from the crazy heat we have been running in all summer! And you are right, running with temps in the 50s sounds marvelous!
Cookie butter?! What is this amazing thing? Too bad Boulder doesn’t have a TJ
Nice work on the 20 miler!
Thank you! Girl…I can’t even explain cookie butter…just sheer addictive goodness! Think nutella except a million times better!
Nice job on the 20 miler! One day I hope to accomplish that! I wish we had a Trader Joe’s in Oklahoma, I’ve heard so many awesome things about it!
Thanks! Yes you would love TJ’s! Thankfully it’s not that close to my house otherwise I think I would spend an entire paycheck there!
Weekend weather was crazy pants here! Saturday was gorgeous, not a cloud in the sky. Sunday went from sunny to overcast, to hurricane, to hail, to sunny. This place is Weird.
Sounds like some funky weather…it got pretty hot out this afternoon down here. We need some rain so it can cool down just a little bit more!
I had an early morning run on Sunday too. Four miles by the water, the light was amazing. And I did lots of yoga in the afternoon before cooking steaks with roasted sweet potatoes and greens. Big yum!
Oh I love running by the water! Sweet potatoes and steak, you are making me hungry!
Congrats on your big 20-miler! I actually did mine on Saturday, so it was quite a bit warmer, but so glad to have that first one behind me. Keep up the good work!!
Thank you! Just went over and visited your blog as well…GREAT job on your 20 and good luck in NY!
