GNO and Power Songs.

Last night I caught up with my ladies for a much needed girls night. We went to Whiskey Cake, a fun little rustic style restaurant that specializes in farm to kitchen goodness. Wednesday night vino is half price so you know we were all about that! We ordered little small plates, little cheeses, cured meats, hummus and deviled eggs. I was all about this cheese plate. Went perfect with the vino.
Overall I had a great time catching up with my ladies! We had some great, deep convo and shared some good wisdom. Like pinterest-worthy type wisdom.

This morning I woke up and, for the first time this week it felt pretty easy to get up and knock out a run! So I have a confession to make…this week I have been doing a lot of treadmill running. I know, who am I? I really need this weather to calm down and cool down. Like for real for real. Temps are still touching the triple digits here in Texas. Boo. Anyway, my apartment gym is nice and quiet in the mornings, I can turn on my Pandora and crank it up to Kanye while running and watching the news.
I have been working on my pacing and moving my legs faster. All of my runs this week have been under 9 minute miles! Oh yeah, I’m getting my mojo back. Slowly but surely.
My favorite power songs this week:
I know, real gangsta.
This weekend will be a 12 mile recovery run for me with the Luke’s Locker crew. I am looking forward to finally hitting 20 miles in a couple of weeks! I am getting a little antsy and ready to get into some crazy long runs.

Running with Traci from last year – her first 20 mile training run!

I found some great info on fueling & nutrition for marathon runners in training. Check it out here!
What is your favorite post run or workout meal or snack? Do you have a “power song” that makes you want to kick it up a notch in your workout? Ladies, when is the last time you’ve had a girls night out?
