My alarm went off at the lovely hour of 6 am this morning and I was up and ready to run. Slipped on my brand spanking new purple compression socks, running skirt, and was out the door. This morning was hill day IN THE RAIN! I was feeling good this morning so I knew it was time to take it outside and splash in some puddles.
Temps were in the LOW 70s, dark skies, nice and quiet outside with a nice breeze. I could get used to this. By the time I wrapped up it was mostly drizzles but felt so good outside. 8 hill repeats, 6 miles done.
My blogging homegirl Katie over at Fitness, Food and Photography nominated me for the Blog on Fire award so I had to send a special shout out to her today! Thanks girl! These little nominations are a fun way to link up with others in the blogging community…a “chain letter” of sorts. So I figured I would jump on board! The rules are that I have to tell you 8 things about myself and then nominate 8 other bloggers. So okaaay, here we go.
-I am an only child, a little bit spoiled and I talk to myself a lot.
-I worked as a barista at the Starbucks coffee shop at my church for a little bit. That explains my love for all things coffee! I can make a mean latte.
- I have a degree in broadcast journalism have worked in television for the past 5 years. I love working behind the scenes in TV!
-My favorite season is definitely fall. The weather gets cooler, I love busting out my fall clothes and I love all of the yummy fall foods. I have a fall brunch every year at my place and invite all of my friends over just to celebrate the season!
-I danced all throughout grade school, taking ballet, tap and jazz classes. I also dabbled in some studio hip hop as a teenager. My favorite style of dancing now is a mix between latin/salsa and hip hop – everything that is Danceaton!
-I love being by the water. When I was in college in Virginia I loved living so close to the Chesapeake Bay. My dream home would probably be right on the beach.
-My favorite dessert hands down is TCBY frozen yogurt with a mountain of rainbow sprinkles.
-Last meal on earth would probably be sushi and vino.
I am nominating the following bloggers for the Blog on Fire award…
What is your favorite season/time of year? What would be your last meal on earth? Tell me some random fact about you.

I got up at 4:30 this morning for a 4 mile run before a core workout. LOVING these cooler temps and rain! It’s going to be tough to re-acclimate when the heat/humidity returns. And I’m going to have to visit TCBY for some frozen yogurt. It looks delicious!
4:30 am…that is rockstar hour! Great job girl!! TCBY is the best…they are the original home of the fro yo
Your blog makes me happy!
My favorite season is fall too!! My last meal on earth would be pizza (Neapolitan style) and wine.. Whew yes!
Aww thx Stacey! Mmm pizza and wine, great combo!!
I would eat rainbow sprinkles with a spoon if I could, wait I do. Love them! Thanks for nomination!
You’re welcome!
Aw, thanks for the nomination! I’m definitely a big fan of fall, too. I’ve been counting down the days until it gets cooler. My last meal would probably be something Mexican…maybe a chile relleno. Or perhaps Jimmy Johns.
How did your compression socks hold up in the rain? I had a rainy long run last weekend and I thought about wearing mine but I was afraid they might get too soggy and uncomfortable. Did you have any problems?
They held up really well! Granted it was light rain but I have run in them before in the rain with no real issues! Try it out sometime
AWWW thanks so much for the nomination!!!!!
I am a FALL person definitely. That first chill in the air? Magical! I’m split between wanting to live by the water or by the mountains. I miss being by the water in Boston
Oh I’m sure Boston is beautiful! I can’t wait to be in DC again…I hope it’s nice and cold, I miss the chilly east coast weather!
DEFINITELY sushi, but sake instead of vino. While I do love Fall, I think I’m gonna have to go with Spring as my favorite time of year. There’s just something about spring that is inspiring to me
Love spring too! Esp after a chilly winter it’s nice to have spring come around!
