Hello and happiest of Fridays to you! I am excited for the weekend to roll around…looking fwd to spending time with the fella, running with my group tomorrow morning, and maybe experimenting with some pinterest recipes! I don’t have too much else planned for this weekend, but that is okay with me! I am embracing having an easy weekend and maybe I will find some time to clean up a little bit around the house.
Here is a recap of my favorites this week…
I am LOVING…
-These purple compression socks. Well all compression socks, really but I love this color! I already have them in pink and when I found out about this Pro Compression deal I absolutely couldn’t resist. 40% off when you use the code SOM812 at checkout, plus free shipping. The deal is going on until August 31st so check ‘em out while you can!
-Dirty chais
My favorite indulgent Starbucks drink right now has to be the soy chai tea latte with a shot of espresso in it, lovingly referred to as the “dirty chai”. Nothing like a little jolt to start your morning.
-Sinful colors nail polish
I found a new toe polish color that actually covers up my ugly runners toes! I love the sparkle bling color. Makes my toes happy.
-Candy corn
I seriously cannot resist this stuff when it comes around in the fall. It dawned on me the other day that it was officially August and this is the month they start stocking it on the shelves. And not all candy corn is created equal, people. Brach’s is the way to go because it has real honey in it! I’m obviously an expert so you should heed my advice and go get you some candy corn ASAP. And maybe even use it to decorate your house this fall.
-(The thought of) Cooler fall-like weather
I have to tell you that I simply cannot wait until it cools down here in Texas. My little runner’s legs are ready to bust out of the gate and run just a little bit faster. With the cooler weather comes faster running, and I can’t wait for that! Plus I want to get out my scarves and boots again. So excited for that.
-Bob Marley
I have a strange new obsession with Bob Marley music…ever since I have started listening to the Sade station on Pandora radio and he comes on every other song, I am feeling the “Irie” Caribbean vibe…makes me feel all happy and mellowed out.
-I’ve had this book for a while but just started picking it back up and reading it again. This quote stuck out like a sore thumb so I had to highlight it.
What is your favorite fall food or sweet treat? Is the weather cooling down at all where you live or is it still guns blazing like in Texas? If you run, when was the first time you felt like you could officially call yourself “a runner”?

I seriously make myself sick from candy corn, I can’t resist it aka why I don’t buy it at all!
haha tell me about it dude!
I love that quote from the book. I don’t call myself a runner…but why shouldn’t I. Just because I’m not running 40 miles a week doesn’t make me any less of a runner. I still run…I still enter races…I’m no 7 min/mile or less athlete but I still do get out there with my Ipod and run around the neighborhood. Thanks for sharing
Absolutely! I thought it was too good (and too true) not to share!
Purple compression socks?! Holler! I’ve been looking for good compression socks because my calves always ache after a run, and purple is my favorite color. Thanks for posting!
You’re welcome! They are great socks, perfect for recovery.
I’m anxiously waiting for fall weather, too. Can’t wait. Every day I’m checking the weather forecast, trying to figure out when it will start to get cooler. I think I’ll do a happy dance on the first day I get to run with a long sleeved shirt, haha. I’m also a big fan of candy corn, although I think I’m partial to the little candy pumpkins that I think are made out of the same ingredients. And those purple compression socks are such a great color.
Have a great weekend!
Oh yeah the pumpkins are yummy too!! Hope you have a fantastic weekend Beth!
I nominated you for a Blog On Fire Award. http://katiedaisy921.wordpress.com/2012/08/18/blog-on-fire-award/
Loved catching up on my favorite little Texan’s blog
And now I MUST go out and try a dirty chai! Chai tea is my favorite, but I never had it dirty. Soon!
It just seems like yesterday when I started reading your blog when you ran the Marine Corp. Marathon and recapped it. I remember being so inspired to run my own marathon. I can’t believe that you are training to do it again! Time flies! Keep it up Lady!
