Mama’s birthday dinner last night was a success! She had a bunch of friends show up (one of her best friends drove up from Houston to celebrate!) and we all showered her with gifts. I have never seen her smile so much! So happy I could share in her special day with her.
This morning I got up and did my scheduled hill repeat run. This run was a little tough but I got it done. 6 miles in the books. Love keeping track of my runs on daily mile.
I ran in my new Asics Gel Landreths. I love this shoe and have been running in it for years! Luke’s Locker always gives the coaches free swag for volunteering our time, and as a part of this we get new shoes every season to run in. I love the color of the Landreths this year! These shoes are super comfy and lightweight. New shoes, happy feet.
As far as my training schedule goes, for the most part I like to stick to the script but always listen to my body and adjust the schedule where it’s needed. I think for now I will keep my total weekly mileage around 30-40 miles a week as that is what has been working for my body, along with all of the other crazy things I do…teaching dance class, cross/strength training and etc. Maybe…juuust maybe this cycle I will top out at 50 miles and call it a day! We’ll see…baby steps.

Nice shoes! I love the feeling of new shoes.. my favorite.
It really is the best feeling!
Thanks for the Luke’s Locker tip! It sounds like coaching for them is pretty sweet
