This morning started out with a 5 mile loop in my ‘hood. I woke up early for no apparent reason. Ready to run and see what my body was capable of this morning. An energy that kind of came out of nowhere but was ready to be utilized. So off I went. I turned on the Nicki Minaj channel on my Pandora radio and went to town.
I’d say the run went pretty well, all things considered. Hip flexor still pretty tight but it’s getting better. I had a bounce in my step this morning, a swag if you will.

I have also decided that for the remainder of April I will be participating in a Plank-a-day challenge! I have to give props to my Fitfluential homegirl Kelly Olexa for sparking this idea.
I do know that core muscles are an important factor in running and having some strong ab muscles can do nothing but benefit your form and performance overall. So, last night…I did a plank after dance class. This morning, I held it a few seconds longer. It’s only getting better, folks.
The rest of the week I will be hitting it hard at work and squeezing in a little bit of social time! I am looking forward to seeing some of my running buddies this week since I missed them this past weekend with all of my car drama.
